 Peter
Valk, President of Transportation Management
Services (TMS), has over twenty five years of experience in transportation
planning, market research, policy analysis, Transportation Demand Management
planning and management, training, and evaluation. Since founding TMS in
1985, Mr. Valk has helped over 1,500 public and private sector clients,
in communities across the country, to explore, develop, and deliver a variety
of transportation management projects. Prior to founding TMS in 1985, Mr. Valk was employed for nearly eight years by Commuter Computer, the regional ridesharing organization for Southern California, where he was responsible for planning, service development and evaluation activities for the $5.0 million organization. Mr. Valk also worked for the California Department of Transportation and the Mayor's Office in the City of Los Angeles where he helped develop a citywide parking management program. Mr. Valk was a lead instructor for UCLA’s Transportation Demand Management Certificate Program and has taught in the California State University system. He holds a Master of Arts in Urban Planning from the University of California at Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Design from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Peter is a member of the Transportation Research Board, Institute of Transportation Engineers, Association for Commuter Transportation, and the American Planning Association. Peter is a member of the City of Calabasas Traffic and Transportation Commission. |
